If you do not know history, you are doomed to repeat it. Please watch the Bill Moyers video which is a 90 minute scathing critique of subterfuge carried out by the Executive Branch. It is important to note that this was made in 1987 and the only things that have changed are that the secrecy and deception are greater. It is true that "big business influencers" have been testing our mettle to see how much we would take, how aggressive we might be when we see wrong. However, the dangers were not beyond our borders as alleged. We have been bombarded with executive scandal in corporate and government, to the point that we have been conditioned to accept it. It has been marketed to us as business as usual.

May 5, 2008 Cyclone hits. All agree that the government did not provide warning. Media is shut down, military quarantines area. Death toll estimated at 350. People without food,water, electricity or communications.

Death toll estimated at 15,000.
Death toll estimated at 22,500.
Death toll estimated at 50,000.
Day 5 Death toll estimated at 100,000.
Day 8 Death toll estimated at 216,000.Why were original estimates so low? Why has the government provided "Katrina like" response? If it is a blueprint*, it is very ominous.

This article now claims that the death toll could be half that of the Tsunami that hit in 2004. Donations are about half what was raised since they are not getting many pictures. You don't react to what you don't see.

1.5 Million people are facing starvation due to the restrictions placed by the government. John Holmes, speaking in unusually candid language for a diplomat. "They have simply not facilitated access in the way we have a right to expect." You have to wonder if death to a large number of the population is not the intended goal.

*It's not like they have ties to anyone that has the blueprint.


Corrupt politicians have also learned lessons in deception, Watergate taught them to destroy evidence, Iran Contra introduced the ends-justified-the means-mentality, and we continue to accept the pre-emptive war policy. A careful analysis would show that we really would be far better off with no policy rather than continuing to accept that we are stupid and lapping up the "if you only knew what I know" Presidential BS line.

In their defense, we continue to accept it, and that is why they keep doing it.

It is a fallacious argument that the Constitution must be shredded because the terrorists will make us give up our rights to be protected. I am not letting the terrorists do that. I feel LESS protected now that I can be sent to a gulag without charges or representation.
You are less protected if you want to dispute any policy in a large group. This is because you could be painted in the press as a protestor and the President could send in military troops to "quell the riot", sort of like they way they did at Kent State a few years back.

Repeal the Patriot Act. You don't have to buy a tri-cornered hat, you don't have to go out and buy a musket, just click your mouse to let them know you still have common sense.There was nothing patriotic about it.
